Vitamix 7500: Power and Performance:

Every great blender MUST be powerful enough to prevent stalling under heavy loads. The Vitamix has two types of motors depending on their wattage. There are 2.0HP motors such as in Vitamix 5200 and 2.2HP motors like in Vitamix 7500.

For a POWERFUL blender to PERFORM well, it needs an effective blade design and a suitable container to use its power efficiently for blending.

Power and Performance are the deal breakers for any blender and depend on the Motor, Controls and Design of its blending Jar.

Motor

Vitamix 7500 has a high-quality powerful motor encased in its base. The source of blending power comes from the electric power of the motor is 2.2 HP (=1600 Watts) peak power. The motor on the 7500 Vitamix blenders has efficient cooling which let you run this blender for a longer span.

The Vitamix is built and assembled in the US and it is secured with a thermal auto switch which has an overheating sensor that prevents the engine from burning.

Blades and Container Design

Although the motor on Vitamix 7500 is more powerful compared to older blenders. The rotations of blades are not as fast. The tips of the blades on the 7500 blenders rotate at around 33000 rpm at the highest speed. The reason is that the blades are larger (4. inches) compared to the narrow jar blades (3. inches).

The motor provides power to the blender while the performance is dictated by the blades’ design and the jar with the ingredients.

Vitamix has perfected the art of matching the high power of a motor with the super efficient design of the blade-container duo to convert that electrical power to pulverize everything.

The blades on Vitamix 7500 are dull, these are large stainless-steel hammermill and cutting blades that act like a hammer and smash everything it touches.

The container is a Wildside jar which is great for making pastes, chopping, grating and also making icecreams and shakes.

Controls

Vitamix 7500 also has super easy controls.

The control panel of Vitamix 7500 has a variable speed dial, a pulse feature button and an on/off toggle switch. While the preset settings on Vitamix may give you the privilege of walkaway blending, the pulse feature allows you to manually control the texture and chunkiness of the blends.

The manual controls on Vitamix 7500 give you the freedom to make whatever recipe you want.

Containers and Capacity:

Vitamix blenders come in plastic containers. The Vitamix 7500 comes with 64 oz. low-profile blending jar which can easily fit under your cabinet. And it is also compatible with other regular jars of different sizes including the dry jars except for the modern ascent series containers.

Blending performance comes from the container design. It helps the blender cavitation, rips and mix really well. The low-profile wide base jar makes Vitamix 7500 best for use as a food processor.

Longevity and Durability:

Just like any other Vitamix blender, the 7500 is also a long-lasting and durable appliance that has never disappointed its user.

These Vitamix blenders are built to last. And this is the reason why Vitamix blenders are so expensive.

Warranty

When a brand knows that its products are really great. They do not hesitate to offer generous warranty offers.

With the new Vitamix 7500, you will get a 7 years warranty or you can add another 3 years for $75.

Price

Vitamix 7500 costs more, because it is more inclined towards commercial use and has great features such as longer blending time and low noise.

This particular model, the Vitamix 7500, costs around $510.

While the price points are high for these blenders, they are totally worth the price. You cannot get such high-quality, durable and long-lasting blenders for cheap.

  • The tamper makes it 2X easier to blend ice cream and thick ingredients. Plus, you can also attach the tamper holder.
  • The low profile container with a wide base. It works great for kneading and food processing.
  • Low Noise: It is around 7 decibels quieter than other Vitamix blenders.

What We Don’t Like

  • Its weight. It’s heavy. (but easy to fit over the countertop)
  • Low RPM. Even with higher power the blades may rotate slowly and perform slightly low

Tests and Demos: What Can You Do with Vitamix 7500?

Here are the videos of Vitamix 7500 tested for making a variety of recipes. Check out how precisely and fast it blends. You always get a perfect and smooth consistency and texture with an amazingly fresh and creamy taste.

Hot Soups

All Vitamix countertop blenders are able to make hot soup. The reason is their dull-ish blade design and highest RPM motors. You can get piping hot soup steaming in about 5 minutes.

You can make creamy soup using any ingredients you want with Vitamix 7500. Start with variable speed 1, go to level 10 and let it run for 5-6 minutes and your soup will be ready.

Frozen Treats and Bowls

Only high-end, powerful blenders are able to blend frozen fruit and make smoothie bowls. Most frozen treats require blending ice and hard frozen ingredients. To get a silky texture without chunks of un-blended ingredients, the Vitamix 7500 will crush even the toughest food items within a minute.

Nut Butter

I’ve also tested Vitamix 7500 for making salsa, sunflower milk, cashew butter, peanut butter, cream of asparagus soup, chocolate ice cream, orange sherbet, and matcha frappuccinos. Everything turned out wonderful. It has made nice smooth creamy peanut butter you will need to use the tamper properly for this one. Making nut butter is very simple but takes more time; simply throw in the almonds or peanuts and blend, the end result is smooth and delicious.

Hummus

Want crunchy Hummus? Vitamix 7500 will not let you down here too. The pulse function on this blender helps you make hummus just like you want.

Flour and Grinding

The wide carafe on the 7500 blenders is great for dry grinding too. It will also help you grind stuff without needing an additional Dry container. The dry Jar works opposite to the wet container, where the ingredients are pushed up and blasted by the blades.

Food Processing and Chopping

Vitamix 7500 can be used as a food processor. It can chop both dry and wet. You can also knead pizza dough with this versatile machine.

In addition to these tests, Vitamix 7500 is also worthy of pureeing cooked and raw ingredients.

Vitamix 7500 Alternatives: Cheaper Equally Worthy Blenders (Almost!)

If you are not ready to pay big bucks for this blender there are many other great blenders that you can get for less money.

The Breville Fresh and Furious blender do very well in our tests, the Kitchenaid Diamond blender is also a great low-cost option. All these alternatives to Vitamix 7500 cost at least 300 dollars less if not more.

Why should you pay that much more for the Vitamix 7500? The 4 qualities that we have already mentioned. We think if you have the money, you should get a Vitamix because most of us hate buying things that will need to be replaced in short order.

Breville Fresh and Furious Blender

For less than 200 bucks you can have this powerful machine by Breville. You can use it as a low-cost alternative to 7500 for a variety of meal preps.

KitchenAid Diamond 5-speed blender

High-performance blender with a huge number of color options. This is a very easy-to-use and very good blender in lesser price.

Vitamix 7500: Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning a 7500 blender is super easy.

Each time when you end up blending something:

  • Fill the blender with water (preferably warm)
  • Add a few drops of liquid soap and blend at the highest speed
  • Rinse and you will get a perfectly clean blender jar.
  • If there are some stains on the motor base, you can use a damped cloth to wipe them away.
  • Do not put the container or lid in the dishwasher.

With time, the container will become permanently stained, clouded and may probably wear out. You can always replace it with a new container and have the same blending performance.

Should You Get Vitamix 7500? Final Thoughts.

The Vitamix 7500 is a great blender for those who use it every day and don’t want to replace blenders every year.

It is a great choice if you need a blender that will blend perfectly, use your blender as a food processor too, shred meat, and process dry and wet food equally every day for decades.

Overall, It’s expensive, if you only do smoothies don’t buy them. If you plan on using a blender a few times a week, get it. It will be one of the best investments you’ll ever make!
