Is a Ninja Blender Dishwasher safe?

Despite the claims, not all Ninja blenders are dishwasher safe. And, even if the manual on the Ninja blender says it can go in the dishwasher.

You must look for components that you can actually put in the dishwasher without any damage.

Ninja blender lids, personal cups, blade assemblies and tampers are top-rack dishwasher safe. The blender pitchers and food processor bowls are another story.

Ninja blenders are very versatile blenders. And they are cheaper too. But sometimes the lower price can cost you big time.

You need to be careful with many things. Including washing and cleaning these blenders in the dishwasher.

The reason why it is important to take care when putting a Ninja blender in the dishwasher is twofold.

One, you cannot use these blenders without locking the lid on the pitcher (thanks to the stacked blade).
So, if the pitcher of your Ninja blender deforms and you are not able to put the lid on it, your blender is useless.

Two, the lid and the handle must align in position to run the blender motor. There is a tiny button on the bottom of the pitcher that goes through the handle, pushed by the lid to run the motor.

Many users have complained about their handle warping after dishwashing the pitcher. This will also render your blender useless because the lid would not align with the handle and the motor won’t run.

Another reason why it is not a good idea to put your blender in the dishwasher is the design of the handle on a few models.

Some Ninja blenders with hollow handles (Professional Series). When you put the pitchers of these blenders in a dishwasher. There is a chance of mold and gunk building in these hollow handles which are impossible to remove.

Can the Ninja blender lid go in the dishwasher?

Ninja blenders have lids with rubber seals. Although the lids are hard plastic they need care when washing in the dishwasher.

You should always put the lid on the uppermost rack of the dishwasher. The lower temperatures on the top rack will keep the rubber seal on the lid safe.

Can Ninja bullet go in the dishwasher?

Bullet blender series like Ninja Nutri AutoIQ and Ninja personal blender has personal on-the-go cups with spout lids to drink directly from the small jars.

The lids and the containers along with the blade assemblies are dishwasher safe. You can put these blender parts on the top rack of the dishwasher and let them clean hands-free.

Should you handwash or dishwasher your ninja blender?

In my honest opinion, and to avoid any damage to your ninja blender. You should never put the pitcher or the Ninja food processor bowl into the dishwasher.

The build quality of Ninja is good but not great. The plastic could bend out of shape in the high-temperature environment of the dishwasher.

Most Ninja blender pitchers do not fit in the top rack due to their larger size. Also, Cold and Hot Ninja Foodi blender pitchers have heating elements and cannot go in the dishwasher.

A few users also complained about their Ninja blender leaking after washing it a few times in the dishwasher. Maybe it is just the water that went up to the hidden parts of the blender components during the dishwashing, but it is something that you should consider.

Hand-washing the pitcher with a brush and soapy water is easier. The ninja pitchers are wide and you can pull the whole blade assembly out. Thus rubbing it from the inside with a hand or cleaning brush is very easy.

Remember not to run the pitchers with a heating function under running tap water.
